Home Stretch

After a fun weekend at the Greatest Show on Earth (more on that later) I’m back home and focusing my energy on my upcoming wedding, which is coming so soon! We are in the home stretch, finishing the little things, and getting excited! Fashion DIY’s are one of my favourite things to do, but for the next few weeks I probably won’t have much time for them. Please stick with me because I’m going to be gathering loads of fresh ideas in this time, so by the end of the summer I’ll be a blissfully married lady, with lots of great DIY’s for all of you!

I love you all!!!

Breezy Trees & Exit Strategies

Where did June go? I hardly remember last month and it’s July already! Bananas!! I’m so excited for the weekend, my fiancée will officially be a pilot on saturday making future escape missions and weekends in California so much easier! Project get-me-a-tan has commenced!

If you linger a moment with me, you’ll see the wisteria blowing in the wind, is there anything more beautiful? See more photos from that day here!

A giant thank you to all my long-time and brand new subscribers/visitors, I love you all!  Seeing your comments and “likes” just makes my heart melt! Cheers to you!

Calm

Life can be a kick in the pants. When there aren’t enough hours in the day, days in the week or time to sleep, it can feel like a three ring circus. I think balance is a lesson that everyone needs to learn, and some of us take the hard lesson. With a full-time corporate job, a busy blog, planning my upcoming wedding, and other life complications, there is very little time that I allow myself to stop, breathe and relax. Recently the best thing that helps me relax is reading, specifically Paulo Coelho who seems to centre and calm my mind. I feel like taking the time to enrich ourselves through reading is a luxury, and our brains deserve it!

Once I was in security at Heathrow airport, it was a disaster and I was close to missing my flight. Reading a book while waiting kept me calm and very zen about being stuck in the living hell that is airport security in the wake of a terrorist scare!

How do you guys handle the crazy roller coaster that is life? I would love to hear how people take control and overcome stress. Does this calming picture of a Buddah and a babbling brook help!?

XO
And a Happy Canada Day long weekend to my fellow canucks!

Little Joy

Little Joy, both the name of a great band, and this moment spent looking at the reflection of the rhododendrons in this pond. Sunny days will never get tiresome!

A Maple And A Thank You

Happy friday friends!
I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every subscriber or visitor to my blog. I have so much fun doing this, and reading the sweet comments and seeing people enjoy my little world brings me so much joy! I feel like everything good that is happening to me or could happen in the future is a direct result of this labour of love. So here’s to all of you, who make me feel like I’m doing something worthwhile here!
I have tons of projects coming up that I’m really excited about so stay tuned and stay inspired!

Above is a Living Photo I created last week while touring a private garden. The sun was playing with a Japanese maple tree, and luckily I had my camera on hand.

Here’s to a productive and relaxing weekend!

Cheers

Purple Haze

Another Living Photo from this day. It’s raining today so this reminds me that soon the rain will stop and it will be summer again! After a month spent either working or out of town, it’s really relaxing to plan evenings and weekends at home, gardening, cooking and going to movies!

Cheers to a relaxing evening!

Let’s go Fly

My lovely friend T, the reigning kite master of Cannon beach!

This hawk kite made such a cool noise in the wind, but everytime I tried to take control it decided to nose dive into the ground. I blame the wind!  Check out my other posts from Cannon beach here & here!

I’m so excited for the upcoming long weekend, a chance to catch up/organize my life, start a new batch of DIY’s, and take lots of photos! So much to look forwards to!!

Cheers!

.. And The Living’s Easy

It’s officially summer here on Canada’s west coast, and it’s heaven! My walk to and from work in the sunshine listening to Otis Redding & Sam Cooke, the long evenings which allow me to garden after 5pm, driving around with the convertible top down, these are just a few things I’m enjoying to the last drop! This Living Photo features an allium in my garden, a garden I began last year which brings me so much joy. Watching plants grow and seeing the local wildlife enjoying the new landscape is so rewarding. Check out my other Living Photo form the series here!

Hoping summer has reached all you lovely people out there!

Cheers,

Stroll

Just strolling down the beach, no big deal!

I can’t tell you how happy this seagull taking a walk down Cannon beach makes me! It brings me back to this day, and I swear at one point he looks directly at the camera! Its funny how much joy a Living Photo of a bird can bring! If anyone is looking for me, I’ll be starring at this and giggling for the next few hours!

Am I this easily amused or do you guys like it too!!?? Leave me a comment, say hi, I love hearing from all my blog friends!

Cheers,

In The Wind

While spring cleaning my computer, I found these Living Photos from a few month ago featuring my lovely sister (you can find her here!) and grandma! We used to get together every monday for coffee and family time, something I’ll miss now that life is a little busier, but I will always have the photos!!!

Cheers to sunny days, coffee breaks and family!
