Party Number 4

The fourth and last party before my wedding was my favourite.
We combined the chunni (scarf) ceremony and the chura (bangle) ceremony into one party which felt very special and ceremonial, like an extension of the wedding day. First I was showered with gifts, clothing, food and family heirlooms from my husband’s family then had my eyes covered while two arm loads of bangles were dipped in water with milk and rose petals then placed on my arms. Usually I don’t like people dressing me or feeding me food, but I had so much appreciation for my new family that it was nothing but fun!

Stay tuned for photos from the big day, then I promise I’ll stop wedding spamming everyone!

Party Number Three

Welcome to a week of wedding fun! My third wedding party celebrated my bridal henna, which took 4.5 hours to apply, an entire evening of not moving my arms or legs, and one sleep with socks on my arms to reach the dark colour intricate design you see here! The henna was one of my favourite reminders of the wedding and an interesting conversation starter with many strangers. It’s mostly faded now, but the traces of henna remind me of a beautiful party with loved ones, a time I will never forget.
Stay tuned for more details all week!
cheers,

Like a Dream

A sneak peek of some details from my wedding on saturday. It was the most magical, hectic, exhausting, and invigorating time of my life. Joy overcame chaos and adrenaline overcame exhaustion.

During the entire week of wedding parties and events, I only cried once, the morning of the ceremony. It wasn’t from stress or anxiety, but from texting my best friend at 2am when I couldn’t sleep, and him telling me everything was good, everyone was happy, and he couldn’t wait to see me. I cried tears of joy, knowing that in a life full of mistakes and wrong decisions, I was making the easiest and best decision of my existence.

A special thanks to my mom, my cousin Michael, my sister, and my great friend Erica for capturing so many amazing moments which I can’t wait to share more of!

cheers!
