Year One

Tomorrow marks the first birthday of my blog! I really can’t imagine my life without this online presence, and it’s brought me so much joy and amazing opportunities. Thank you to everyone who visits, leaves comments, clicks “like,” it really makes my day!

In the next week you’ll see a fresher look & feel of the blog, a much needed update that I’ve been thinking about for months.

Thanks for stopping by, I can’t wait for year 2! Look forward to better and more content, fresh DIYs and loads of beautiful images. I’ve collected my favourite images from the past year, sorry if it takes forever to load, I couldn’t help myself!!

Party Number 4

The fourth and last party before my wedding was my favourite.
We combined the chunni (scarf) ceremony and the chura (bangle) ceremony into one party which felt very special and ceremonial, like an extension of the wedding day. First I was showered with gifts, clothing, food and family heirlooms from my husband’s family then had my eyes covered while two arm loads of bangles were dipped in water with milk and rose petals then placed on my arms. Usually I don’t like people dressing me or feeding me food, but I had so much appreciation for my new family that it was nothing but fun!

Stay tuned for photos from the big day, then I promise I’ll stop wedding spamming everyone!

Stampeding

Last weekend I went the the greatest outdoor show on earth, the Calgary Stampede! I didn’t have a plan or any tickets, but I was content exploring a city in celebration and just being a part of the magic! There was lots of dancing, live music, crazy food (hello deep fried Kool-aid,) walks in warm summer rain, cowboy gear, and fun times with girl friends.

Enjoy a short visual diary of my trip!

Live music, framed by cowboys young and old.

Standard everyday gear.

A sea of plaid in the Cowboys party tent.

I think this is air guitar, blocked by some subtle jazz hands.

My BFF, texting and looking good!

Riding the chair lift over the stampede grounds on the last day.

Sunday Inspiration

Things that are inspiring me this weekend:

a living photo featuring the rippling tides of my DIY Layered Wave dress that simply had to be posted!

a fun #FridayFollow featuring little ol’ me! The company, Count Down Events from Vancouver BC,  has featured some truly talented ladies and is definitly worth checking out! Being interviewed is surreal, humbling, and super fun!

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, and get ready for more fun this week as my Summer Lookbook continues!!

Cheers!
