In The Midst Of Winter, I Found There Was, Within Me, An Invincible Summer.
-Albert Camus
I couldn’t help posting more pictures from this day. The morning light was warm and strong, it almost felt like summer. The frost on the ground could have shattered the illusion, but if you don’t look at something it doesn’t exist to you right?! I used to measure my days in how much I accomplished, or how good a hair day I was having (kidding…sort of) but now I rate most days on how much sunlight I could take advantage of! After all, photography would be nothing without light

P.S. I was going through some old posts and I realized I can’t stop talking about summer! I’ll try to think about something else!
P.P.S I just found out that I was shortlisted for THREE Canadian Weblog awards!!! Best Art & Photography, best Fashion & Style & Design, and Best New weblog! So exciting, humbling, and rewarding! Unfortunately voting isn’t open to the public (it’s being judged by a set of jurors) but just by visiting my site you provide so much support! Thank you to everyone involved!!!! Go check out the site here!

The last of the images from a photoshoot a few weeks ago (seen here and here), I promise I won’t post anymore! I love all things shiny and reflective, mostly because I’m horribly vain, so this shoot was one of my favorites, even though I didn’t get to see my own reflection
Spotted something shiny, gotta go,

Its been a crazy week. Working on a few small projects, and a few huge projects, there hasn’t been a ton of time for anything else. The silver lining to my mind numbing lack of sleep is my brand new Canon Rebel T2i camera. It is crystal clear, amazing quality, and I cannot wait to share the Living Photos and stills I take with it! Expect a lot more awesome images, with better quality!
I can’t wait!!!!!!! Stay tuned!!!!!!

I love using acrylic paint, mostly because I’m lazy and can’t be bothered to wait for oil paint to dry. In university art classes I would start a project the night before, finish at 7am, sleep for an hour, then take my DRY!! painting to class and say I finished it days ago. That’s the life of a student! I also added a Living Photo of me painting, which my by far the most challenging animated gif I’ve done to date. Sometimes they are easy, sometimes it takes hours of manual manipulation. But the outcome is rad!

"Paint" 2011
Happy Friday!!! I wish I could say I’m not going to work on the weekend, alas, the life of a freelancer doesn’t exactly run on a schedule.
More Photos of the lovely Erica, as she reminds us to breathe, laugh and stay good looking this weekend.
Open query: how do you throw out a garbage bin? If you put it out there, they just empty it and leave the bin…..take the whole damn thing please!!!!
That is all.

A Living Photo (animated gif) I created a few months back just for fun! Does anyone else have a moderate Coke Zero addiction? Should we all form a support group and take it one day at a time?
If drink Coke Zero is bad, I don’t want to be good!
Thanks for the surprisingly immediate support from new followers and new comments, it really means the world to me and I read each and every comment, unless its a spam bot, then I karate chop the delete button and curse viral technology!
HiiiiiiiiYAH! (that’s a karate chop noise. I actually just googled it to confirm the correct spelling, turns out its more of a “go-with-what-you-feel” onomatopoeia!)
Stay classy San Diego!

And now begins my second attempt at blogging! My first (The Functional Geek) become overrun with pirates and evil robots, and I basically lost interest in what I was writing about. Rule number one of a blog, LOVE what you write and do! This new space will be a destination for graphic art, photography, art, fashion, DIY’s, and anything else I find ridiculously cool and inspiring! Above is a Living Photo I made of myself, yeah I’m vain! I said it!
Please visit often, and leave me lots of messages!
